Girum (“Groom”) Tesfaye, provides extensive estate planning services to individuals and businesses in the DC Metropolitan area (the DMV). Girum’s primary focus is to help client’s avoid probate, protect their assets, and provide for the security of their loved ones with a well-crafted estate plan.

Girum’s background as a litigation attorney in state and federal courts gives him a unique set of skills when representing members of our diverse community in the DMV. Particularly, Girum has gained recognition for creative planning and execution of estate plans for noncitizens and undocumented clients.

Girum is aware of the growing importance of estate planning in all communities. After having spent many years litigating complex immigration matters in federal courts and administrative agencies, Girum recognized the need for an estate planning attorney who can address issues at the intersection of estate planning and immigration.

Consequently, Girum frequently address matters of estate planning, asset protections, business succession planning, protecting assets of noncitizens and as well as representing clients in removal (deportation) proceedings and other complex immigration matters.

Girum is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
